Identity
Identity
Terrazas de los Andes was founded in 1996, in the heart of Mendoza, a renowned winemaking region in the west of Argentina, on an estate where the first ungrafted vines were planted in 1929. It takes its name from the “terrazas”, a series of terraced plateaus at the foot of the Andes mountain range, scattered over altitudes ranging from 600 to 1,600 meters. On these terraces, each of the grape varieties are planted at optimum altitudes to benefit from ideal ripening conditions that give the grapes wonderful aromatic complexity and flavor.

Terroir
Terroir
The layout of the Terrazas de los Andes parcels is the result of 50 years of groundwork and exploration into the region’s terroirs and microclimates, so that each terrace can be matched with a single grape variety which can then develop its full potential. The malbec vines are planted between 800 and 1,500 meters above sea level, in various locations around the Mendoza region. In the north, they produce soft and complex flavors, while in the south they offer vibrant intensity. Torrontés grapes grow on the highest terraces at altitudes of over 1,800 meters, and reveal all the freshness of the Andes. Finally, cabernet sauvignon has its place both in the northern and southern regions, where it can express its full-bodied character, elegance and perfect ripeness.
